Bingeing In Sentul

I was introduced to this place by a colleague of mine. After having explained to me several times on the directions to get to this place I finally found my way there one weekend. With my friends in tow we decided to order everything on the menu!

Upon arriving at this dingy part of the neighborhood we were a bit worried we might have gone to the wrong place, but once we saw throngs of people sitting by the side of the road waiting for their food we knew we were at the right place and thankfully we had made reservations earlier so we were seated upstairs in the air conditioned part.
We ordered all their specialties and were pretty anxious to taste the food. First up came the Pork Knuckle, drenched in a weird looking orange sauce which we couldn’t quite figure out what it was but it was tasty. Wasn’t overly done and the sauce had a tinge of sour and spiciness to it which was pretty unique.

Next up was the Siong Tong La La (Clam braised in soup) which was full of flavor with the Chinese wine added. Everyone kept slurping up the soup, completely wiping it dry.
The Sizzling calamari and prawns was served on a hot plate with banana leaf on it and the sauce was rather thick. We couldn’t quite make out the taste of this dish but it tasted like buttered calamari added with other ingredients. One of my favorites for the night!
We ordered another signature dish which was the Nam Yu Fried Chicken Wings (Chicken wings with fermented bean curd). The dish wasn’t too oily and the marination of the dish was done well and you could taste the fermented bean curd.
The 2 fish dishes that we ordered were the Sting Ray in Sze Chuan style and the Tilapia Cheong Cheng style (salted bean style). Both dishes were rather spicy but was packed with really strong flavors that would continue to linger even after you’re done. Of course we had to have our dose of fiber with our dinner and so we ordered 2 vegetable dishes, kangkung and yau mak.
By the end of the meal we were all stuffed! And the taste from all the dishes were all really intense and the damage was only RM25 per person inclusive of drinks and rice.
