Listeners! There's a new radio station in town and it's none other than Capital FM! Taking centre stage as the ONLY radio station that addresses women in providing women a voice and a hub to exchange thoughts and opinions, Capital FM runs with its new tagline of Women – The New Capital.

Capital FM aims to empower and inspire urban women by meeting their emotional and intellectual needs. 

“Our main priority is to give women a voice in the media. We strive to provide timely and relevant information from modern women to modern women and no other station in Malaysia offers this,” said Mr. Tan Chong Kheng (C.K. Tan) Deputy Chief Broadcasting Officer of Star Radio Group.

With a carefully handpicked cast of celebrity presenters comprising Asha Gill, Joanne Kam, Xandria Ooi, Patricia K, Sheela Haran, April Kuan, Joey G and Liang, the station promises to reach out to comfort, challenge, tickle the funny bones and ride through the hard times together with all women listeners like never before!

Start your mornings bright and early from 6.00am to 10.00am with Joanne Kam and Joey G. They will add a little spice to our Malaysian breakfast with Talk of the Town. In the early stages of the show, listeners will be entertained by special guest-announcer Tony Eusoff. Promising to be fun, irreverent and better than your strongest mug of steaming hot aromatic coffee, here’s something to put a smile on your face every morning and to keep it there the rest of the day!

10:00am to 1:00pm sees the lovely and outspoken Asha Gill celebrating the roles of womanhood as mother, partner, provider and teacher on Eat, Love, Play. Tune in and share insights, advice on modern living and even single parenthood in this segment which gets to the core of every woman’s daily achievements and challenges.

The hip and stunning DJ Patricia K takes over from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with My City, an independent, single young woman’s take on the fast moving and upbeat pace of the multicultural city of Malaysia. From movies to music and travel, it’s time to relive or just plain, relish the journey of discovery! This segment also features Malaysia’s very first day-time playlist of chill-out lounge! Our other single-gal, April Kuan joins Patricia as her travel-buddy for our very special inaugural month.

Join the dynamic duo of Xandria Ooi and Liang for The Jam Break from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for some thought-provoking and immersive chat topics, keeping it light-hearted when needed and just totally wacky when necessary, just to keep you company during the most trying times of the traffic jam.

And just when it’s time to kick off those heels and sit back with your girlfriends and chillax, Sheela Haran brings sexy back with Groovedown from 8:00pm to 12:00am. Share your thoughts and questions on relationships and social lifestyle with Sheela, then sizzle and simmer in good ol’ R&B and urban groove.

Welcome the lazy weekends and spend them with music maestro, April Kuan, spinning all your favourite genres of music from around the world to keep you entertained on Saturday Global Passport from 10:00am to 2:00pm and Sunday Jazzscapes from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

In May 2011, Capital FM joined the nation’s preferred radio stations, 988, Red FM and Suria FM under the stable of radio stations Star Radio Group, when it was acquired by Star Publications (M) Bhd.

Currently, Capital FM transmits to the Klang Valley via 88.9Mhz, covering the areas from Bidor, Sungkai, Tanjong Malim, Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Petaling Jaya, Cyberjaya, Nilai to parts of Seremban.

The All-New Capital FM (88.9) goes live on national radio at 6:00am on 1 December 2011.
