COFFEE SHORTAGE DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE

We've been hearing a lot about climate change and global warming but most of us just keep ourselves locked up in our air conditioned room or car and think the worlds' problems will just dwindle away.

Did you know because of climate change there has been warning on threats to world coffee supply? Some experts are even saying that come 10, 20 or 30 years down the road, coffee may actually become a very expensive commodity. Perhaps even a luxury item where only the rich will be able to afford like gold.

But why you ask? In certain parts of the world the weather has become too hot to plant coffee trees. Farmers are already starting to see the effects of a changing climate in key coffee regions with severe hurricanes, heat, drought and threats of bugs on their crops. With factors such as these impacting farmers due to climate change, we'll probably be seeing farmers feeling discouraged to cultivate coffees in future thus constricting supply.
